The 2011-2012 season kicks off for Detroit basketball in Detroit on November 11 against Lake Erie. The Titans are looking to match or perhaps beat last season's run. They'll be returning players who gave them 99% of total their minutes last season and adding the contributions of only one incoming freshman.

, placing 5th in the Horizon with their 10-8 conference record. The Titans will have to get by without Connor Clark (1 MPG), who left the team.

Familiar faces for the Titans are sophomore Ray McCallum (13.5 points/game), senior Chase Simon (13.5 points/game), senior Eli Holman (1.6 blocked shots/game), senior Nick Minnerath (11.2 points/game), and junior Jason Calliste (1.2 assists/game).

The Titans get new blood, freshman 5-8 P.J. Boutte. Also coming aboard are 6-4 junior Brandon Romain, 6-5 junior Doug Anderson, and 6-6 sophomore Juwan Howard Jr. (transferred from Western Michigan).

The Titans go up against one AP preseason Top 25 opponent, at #19 Alabama on December 11th. Detroit kicks off Horizon play on December 1st against Youngstown State.
