Detroit Gets Win Over Green Bay, 80-73

On January 12th on the road, the Titans beat the Phoenix, 80-73.

Some notes regarding this matchup: The RPI ranked Green Bay much higher, #145 to #251. On the road, the Titans don't play so well, but the Phoenix weren't so hot coming in (2 for 5). A year ago, Detroit went 1-1 against Green Bay. In the last four years of the series, the Titans are 3-7, with a record of 1-4 at Resch Center. Detroit has a winning record over Green Bay going back to 1980, 22-20.

The game came down to a big separation in offensive rebounding and free throw shooting.

Detroit used offensive rebounds to get off additional shots, with an advantage of 18 to eight. The Titans had a better game at the charity stripe, with 26 points off foul shooting compared to 12 for the Phoenix.

Ray McCallum led all scorers against the Phoenix with 16 points on 54% shooting in 33 minutes.
