On January 8th on their home court, the Titans beat the Bulldogs, 76-65, in Horizon play.
Detroit won this game while at the same time exploiting Butler in defensive rebounding and free throw shooting. Detroit used defensive rebounds to establish possession of the ball, with an advantage of 22 to 13. Foul shooting led to an additional 17 points for the Titans compared to only six points for the Bulldogs. A highlight for Detroit was its 9 three pointers. This far and away beat its season average of 4.3.

Ray McCallum had a game-high seven assists to lend a hand in the victory.
