Green Bay's Keifer Sykes has been recognized as StatSheet Horizon Freshman of the Week. Brown put up 50% shooting, 8 rebounds per game, and 17.5 points per game. The Green Bay sophomore put these numbers up in wins versus Valparaiso and Butler.
Brown contributed 16 points and 2 blocked shots in 30 minutes in a 75-60 win over Valparaiso. In the next game he led rebounding with 8 points and added 71% shooting in an 80-68 win over Butler.
This is a familiar honor for Alec Brown, who has been selected StatSheet Horizon Player of the Week four times. He has also been a runner-up once. The runner-up this week is junior Brennan Cougill from Green Bay. Honorable mention goes to Cleveland State senior D`Aundray Brown. Ray McCallum was the highest ranking player from Detroit, finishing fifth.

Keifer Sykes was on the floor an average of 28 minutes as a starter for Green Bay. His averages in both assists (6.5 per game) and free throws (3.5 per game) led all Horizon freshmen. In the win over Valparaiso, Sykes chalked up 7 assists and 50% shooting. Following that in the win over Butler, he added 14 points and 6 assists.
This is a repeat honor for Keifer Sykes, making it the second time he has won StatSheet Horizon Freshman of the Week. Anton Grady from Cleveland State grabs runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Roosevelt Jones from Butler. Detroit has yet to win StatSheet Horizon Player of the Week.
