Eli Holman Wins the StatSheet Horizon Sixth Man of the Week - January 9th, 2012

Wright State's Julius Mays has earned the StatSheet Horizon Player of the Week for the week ending January 9th. Wright State's Reggie Arceneaux has won StatSheet Horizon Freshman of the Week. Also, Eli Holman is the StatSheet Horizon 6th Man of the Week.

Mays led the entire Horizon in scoring (22.5 pts per game) and free throws (9.0 per game). He also put up 50% shooting and 6.5 rebounds per game. The Wright State junior led his team to a win against Valparaiso and a loss to Butler.

Mays led the Raiders in scoring and rebounding with 24 points and 7 rebounds in a 63-62 loss to Butler. That was followed by 21 points and 6 rebounds in a 73-55 win over Valparaiso.

This is the second StatSheet Horizon Player of the Week honor for Julius Mays. The runner-up this week is sophomore Alec Brown from Green Bay. Honorable mention goes to our own Ray McCallum.

StatSheet Horizon Freshman of the Week: Wright State's Reggie Arceneaux

Reggie Arceneaux was on the floor an average of 33 minutes while starting both games for Wright State. His average in three pointers (2.0 per game) was the best among all Horizon freshmen. In the loss to Butler, Arceneaux tallied 11 points and 3 assists. Following that in the win over Valparaiso, he totaled 11 points and 3 assists.

This is the first StatSheet Horizon Freshman of the Week honor for Reggie Arceneaux. Keifer Sykes from Green Bay gets runner-up. Charles Lee from Cleveland State takes honorable mention.

StatSheet Horizon 6th Man of the Week: Detroit's Eli Holman

Eli Holman, a 6-10 Senior center/forward, played an average of 20 minutes over two games for the Titans. In a 73-71 loss to Valparaiso, Holman put up 17 points and 7 rebounds. During a 76-65 win against Butler, he racked up 4 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

This is the second time this season that Eli Holman has won the StatSheet Horizon 6th Man of the Week. Khyle Marshall, a sophomore forward from Butler, is runner up. Tony Meier, a senior forward from Milwaukee, earns honorable mention. Detroit has yet to win StatSheet Horizon Player of the Week.
